Similar to ragging, plastic dabbing can be used to obtain wonderful texture. As always we take particular care in keeping a clean and calming finish void of dark overlaps, especially in hard to treat corners.
Above, an all over plastic dab fine finish has been part-shaded to create vertical stripes.
The wallpaper border was pasted on top of the finish.
In this bedroom and foyer, the walls have been glazed using crumpled plastic and softened with cotton rags. The bedroom walls feature a two tone application which adds subtle, intricate movement to the finish.
An allover ragged finish.
Below, a blend of plastic dabbing and ragging. Notice how this combination adds a degree of depth in the finish as compared to ragging alone.
We mastered these ragging-dabbing-rolling techniques to apply all over seamless glazes, using rags, crumbled plastic sheeting, or a combination of these and other applications such as sponging and stippling.
